The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is a grant of £7,500 for the installation of ground source heat pump systems in England and Wales available from April 1st 2022, the funding is confirmed until March 31st 2028.
Reduced vat rate of 0%
Applies on installation of Ground Source Heat Pumps
The reduced rate of 0% will be available from April 1st 2022 for the installation of ground source heat pumps at residential accommodation.
The reduced VAT rate also applies to any necessary extra work required for the installation. For the installation of a ground source heat pump system this includes the heat pump, the ground loop, piping, system controls and any other installation ancillary to the supply.

Borehole Drilling & Loop Installation
We have a range of specialist drilling rigs to accommodate different site conditions and access requirements. All of our rigs are rubber-tracked and highly manoeuvrable, allowing us to work effectively in challenging locations while keeping ground disturbance and environmental impact to a minimum.
Following drilling, we install the required closed-loop or open-loop ground source system, depending on the project design and ground conditions. The installed loops are then pressure tested to verify system integrity before completion.
For optimum thermal performance, the boreholes are backfilled using thermally enhanced grout, providing effective thermal conductivity between the ground loop and surrounding geology while helping to protect the installation.
